Visit by Rwanda High Commissioner

We hosted the Rwanda High Commissioner at the Secretariat today. Visiting EATTA was his priority. He expressed gratitude to EATTA for promoting Rwanda teas and the positive impact to their economy.

Consultative Forum with the President

The East African Tea Trade Association was invited to a consultative forum with the President, His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto held at Kenya Ports Authority on Saturday 29th July, 2023.Below issues affecting the tea auction were presented for discussion during the forum.

Press Release by East Africa Tea Trade Association (EATTA) on the insecurity and wanton destruction of property in the tea estates.

The Board of the East African Tea Trade Association (EATTA) is deeply concerned about the insecurity and the wanton destruction of property in the tea estates in the South Rift.

The East African Tea Trade Association in collaboration with the Burundi Tea Authority (OTB) will be conducting the 5th African Tea Convention & Exhibition at the Hotel club du lac Tanganyika, Bujumbura, Burundi from 20th to 22nd July,2022.

US Ambassador Kyle McCarter

EATTA was honored to host the US ambassador to Kenya His excellency Kyle McCarter when he visited Mombasa Tea Auction Centre. He commended the industry for the progress made in modernizing the Tea Trading process. He also vowed to work towards enhancing good trading relations between the US government and Kenya.

ADVOCACY

EATTA Chairman signs an agreement with BAF to receive Kshs. 16.7 million Advocacy funds for the tea sector.

KPMG TOP 100 AWARDS

EATTA participated and bagged two awards during the KPMG Top 100 ceremony held at the Carnivore Hotel, Nairobi on Friday night, 23rd November, 2018. The awards were:

1.EATTA ranking within the top 100- 2018/19

2.Award given to EATTA in recognition to their efforts towards conservation of the environment  -2018/19

 

EATTA CSR 2016

The East African Tea Trade Association is a progressive and socially aware organization. As such we are dedicated to integrating good corporate citizenship into our business strategies. CSR is integral to the long term sustainability of our business. In line with the mandate of theAssociation, the following CSR Projects were supported under EATTA’s CSR Programme 2016:

The Mombasa International Show (MIS) was established in 1903 and is situated on the North Coast of the Coastal Resort City of Mombasa. This year EATTA participated in the Mombasa International Show under the ambit of AFA. The theme for the Trade Fair this year was “Enhancing Technology in Agriculture and Industry for Food Security and National Growth”, in other words . “Kuimarisha Teknologiaya Kilimo na Viwanda Ili Kujitosheleza Kwa Chakula Na Ustawi Wa Taifa”

Pre-qualification of Suppliers Tender (2017-2018) - East African Tea Trade Association (EATTA) is in the process of compiling its list of suppliers for the period 2017/2018. Interested suppliers are invited to apply for per-qualification indicating the goods or services they can supply or offer.
